Before you go to bed, take a glass thermometer and shake it down to bring the mercury level to 35C’.

Right after you get up; put your thermometer under your armpit. Keep the thermometer for about 10 minutes. Write down the result when you see it. That result is also known as “early in the morning basal body temperature”. <strong>Your normal body temperature should be between 36.5 and 36.8.</strong>

Note that your temperature can vary because of different infectious diseases. This also applies to women with menstruation.

Your thyroid works normally if your temperature is between 36.5 and 36.8.

If your body temperature falls below 36.5, <strong>your thyroid is underactive</strong> (hypothyroidism). You should keep on mind that depression, lack of energy, tiredness, infections, chronic headaches, lack of memory and concentration, hair lost, are the symptoms of underactive thyroid.

If your body temperature is higher than 36.8, the work of the thyroid is accelerating (hyperthyroidism) or you’ve got a body infection.

It is recommended for you to do this test 3 days in a row to get the best results.

If in any case you temperature is lower or higher than normal, you should see a doctor.
